Arena, underground or neither with Touriks

About this experience

The options, as the listing names them: REGULAR Levels (1 hour, 7 people at most), ARENA Floor (3 hours, 24 at most), ARENA Floor (3 hours, 7 at most) and UNDERGROUND (3 hours, private). The fine print is blunt. REGULAR includes neither the arena nor the underground. The ARENA options include the floor but "Underground access and the Regular Levels are NOT included". The UNDERGROUND option adds the arena. The third and fourth tiers aren't part of any of them.

That ARENA rule surprises people. You stand on the floor, but you don't walk the first and second levels of the amphitheatre; it works like the Park's 24h Only Arena ticket, which covers the floor, the Forum and the Palatine but not the levels. If you want floor and levels on one ticket, the official Full Experience Arena ticket does both for EUR 24, and so do the tours of Crown Tours or Journey Tours. The from-price on Viator is the cheapest option, likely the REGULAR one without the arena. The arena option costs more; check the option list.

The guides are the strong point: archaeologists, a patient pace for disabled guests, small groups of five to ten on some dates. The weak points are the headsets, which several guests say hiss, and the title. It promises "Optional Arena or Underground Access", and in October 2026 more than one group believed they had paid for the underground when they had booked ARENA. Touriks asks you to arrive 30 minutes early, and free cancellation ends 7 days before.

How the day runs

1. 30 min beforeSign up at the green kiosk

   Street level outside Colosseo metro (Line B), by the green kiosk. Staff hold a yellow Touriks sign. Use the downstairs exit, not the upper one.

2. About 45 minRoman Forum

   Through the Forum security and along the Via Sacra with your guide. Palatine security isn't skippable either.

3. About 45 minPalatine Hill

   The palaces and the view over the Circus Maximus.

4. About 1 hourColosseum: your option decides

   REGULAR: the first and second levels, no arena. ARENA: the arena floor, not the regular levels. UNDERGROUND: the hypogeum and the arena with a private guide.

Tips before you book

• Screenshot the option name at checkout. One guest noted there's no receipt to check later beyond the app.
• Be at the green kiosk 30 minutes early. Touriks may not refund or rebook late arrivals.
• Look for the blue metro sign at street level and the yellow Touriks placard, as a guest described.
• Test your headset at the kiosk before you set off and ask for a swap if it hisses. Two October guests missed much of the commentary.
• List who is under 18 when you enter names. Touriks asks for it, and IDs are checked at both the Forum and the Colosseum.
